Yahoo! Answers: Computer Operating system or rip off?

Thank author of this post/commentI took my computer to a shop to have it worked on and they had it for approx 20 days without a single phone call from the shop. Each time I would call they would say they were still trying to diagnose the problem. Finally, the beginning of June they called and said that they had wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled my complete operating system. According to them the hard drive was wiped clean and the operating system reinstalled between approximately June 1-3rd. . However, when I got my computer back and I went into the "installed on" area under the Control Panel, it shows that things like My HP Games, Realplayer and Rhapsody which all installed on May 20th just 2 days after I had dropped off my machine at this business. My question is: If I dropped the computer off on May 18th and they then were installing these "fun" game/music programs just two days later (on a computer that was still supposedly not operating properly) and then almost 20 days after that finally concluded that they needed to wipe the entire hard drive clean and reinstall the operating system, wouldn't those programs have been on the hard drive and thus wiped off when they wiped the hard drive clean? And wouldn't those programs then have had to be reinstalled again which would have resulted in an "installed on" date between June 1-3rd?
